Making a Commitment
In 2011 the leadership team at Methodist Health System decided to do more to support the economic development of the community in Dallas. Together with Don Lee’s team at Impact Professional Group (IPG), they implemented a long-term strategy that changed the way they engage with local contractors and businesses in the Dallas community. They set a goal to develop a qualified supplier base, capable of fulfilling the evolving business needs of the Methodist Health System and all of its customers.
Driving Results
With Methodist’s leadership team’s continued commitment and through its partnership with IPG, Methodist has increased its diversity spend by over 400%. Now Methodist Health System is nationally ranked as #2 in diversity spend, recognized by DiversityInc, DFW/MSDC, and D Magazine for its achievements. Diversity spend on projects at Methodist Health System in Dallas averages 37%–17% above the national average. The leadership team at Methodist has proven their commitment and made the rare decision to increase spend by adding the rest of the supply chain to the Community Impact Program over the next months.
Changing Perspective
The IPG team is passionate about developing a solid contractor base and establishing value-added relationships between small and minority firms and the local communities. These firms can now compete, grow, and increase their business in any competitive market. Minority business leaders want a seat at the table and an opportunity to succeed. Mission-driven Disabled Veteran-Owned business owners want results. Women business owners want to disprove doubters. IPG gives them what they want. Through the proven results of the Community Impact Program, IPG is transforming the way businesses view and value the power of relationships with small and minority businesses.
